Why do you think Reverend Wright is canceling his public appearances?

Please allow me to correct myself.... all of the above minus the last one would be his motive. America wake up OBAMA is not anything like our late John F. Kennedy. 20 years and he does not agree with 85% of the rev. views??????

#328 Jennifer - Face them? We've been hearing about it for so long I think I'm deaf. We have Osama to worry about now and their band of killers. A little more important to come into THIS century and face the terrors of today. A little more important I THINK! The past is what history books are for. There are NO slaves alive today, no hangings, all are allowed on buses, etc. Lets quit whining about the past AND LOOK TO THE FUTURE AND THAT INCLUDES ALL OF US!

  • Jennifer - 16 years ago

I am an American and I love this country just as much as the next person - but we have to be honest with ourselves and admit that there have been some awful things done in the name of our government, and maybe that is the point that Wright was trying to make. Maybe I wouldn't have said it quite the way he did - but it's getting rather tiresome hearing everyone so shocked at the idea that the U.S. has ever been involved in anything sordid, when the facts are, we HAVE. If we REALLY love this country, we have to face these facts, so that we can be sure not to repeat our mistakes in the future.

COUNT THE VOTES OF FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN
    The petition

Please sign the petition so the voices of all 50 states are heard. Michigan and Florida have been disenfranchised by the DNC. The voter's should not be held responsible for the flawed leadership of the DNC.

The UNITED STATES consists of 50 states and all voices from every state should count.

South Carolina, Iowa, New Hampshire held primaries earlier then they were suppose to and the DNC did not penalize them.

A double standard seems to be the DNC's practice.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED -- sign the petition so we can nominate a candidate that reflects the voices of all the people of the United States.

This is SICKENING that we would annihilate a Romney w/Morman beliefs & crucify him w/our media from the left yet give the pass to this so called Senator who has dealings w/a criminal in a land deal, for 20 years he breaks bread w/a racist Black Reverand & his personal friend & so called Uncle, trash his grandmother who happens to be white & is thrown to the wolves by her 'lovely' grandson, and we have to be p.c. correct about every word or jesture toward a black or brown individual or be classified as racist...blah, blah, blah. We've all heard the rhetoric in the past & present about the history of the Black, etc. & its about time someone turned the tables on this whole conversation...stop the nonsense. Remember what Booker Washington wrote about his own race...& pull yourselves up w/out all the handouts. There's been plenty of that & all it does is create the individual who is expecting more & more & more. Look where we've gotten now. What a crock. The pendulum is swung too far & it better start swaying back or we will never recover from the Obama/Hilary Socialist agenda facing the future generations. I think Obama's not only a liar & a cheat as Hilary is, but a true racist since he played it cool from the get go to 'not' play the race card & I wonder why...maybe because we would locate all this racist 'uncle' reverand speech that he never heard. Hey, I heard recently that he would get all the tapes of the Rev. Wright, his buddy, his uncle, whenever it was that he could not be present for his racist hateful sermons. There's way way tooooo much we don't know about this phoney & thanks to the liberal 'not free' press, we never would have known anything had it not been for Greta & the likes of talk radio....thank God for small favors. I'm sick of all the phoneys running around being p.c. on the television. Give me Mark Levin & Michael Savage & Fox for learning the facts of history & our future. Hopefully it won't be with the Socialist Obama or Hilary. Pretty scary to think we'll have Wright as Obama's right hand man & Hilary's will be no other than Lewinsky's lover, her husband. What a great ticket. There's an old saying about Dems & Republicans...the double standard is that Rep's have a moral standard & since the Dem's don't...anything goes. Whatever...we should all remember kennedy & chappaquidick...or however you spell it. Total double standard all across the boards w/dems.

#8 Don't blame Fox cause they are bigots. They seem to hate everyone .They hate all of us. Now are they to blame Fox because we do not like what is said. They should get real. Thank God for Fox.

I believe Rev Wright is laying low to maintain his "status quo" financial and political hate inspired life... Just like the defendant of a trial, if you don't speak you can't hang yourself. Let your friends prove your innocence..
    Right?

  • Judy - 16 years ago

I do not want to hear anything else from any of them including the canidate who I at first admired. we are not stupid . Mr Wright has no excuse that is good enough for me. Isn't it always we are wrong and we are racist. In all my 62 years there is no good enough excuse to be a pulpit bigot. They incite on the pretext of " helping to educate their people " Now what does Mr. Obama say about the new statements his friend/Uncle made. Jews/ Italians/whites What else can you ignore. He is wrong. He knew how he was. I bet he Heard it all . No I do not think so., do not want to hear him . That man likes himself at the cost of everyone else. He preaches to thousands and lives like a king. Yeah he's really got to do a speech on Fox. We do not want to hear anything that he says. You have other reverends on that I'd rather hear from.

WHY DOES ABAMA NOT WANT TO WEAR THE PEN INDICATING

WHY WILL HE NOT PUT HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART WHEN
PLEDGING ALLEGIANCE OF OUR WONDERFUL FLAG?????????

WHY DID HE STAY IN A CHURCH WHERE THE PREACHER DIS=

PLAYED ALL OF THE ABOVE ??????????????????????????????????????????

Why does everyone believe that Obama just can`t believe in everthing Rev. Wright says. Look at the comments Michele Obama has made, She may be a believer in Rev. Wright. She has never been proud of AMERICA until NOW!!!Who would want her for OUR first lady??? TWENTY YEARS of Rev. Wright`s preaching and Obama NEVER heard the racism against whites, jews & italians. Should all non blacks get in line for Rev. Wright`s racism??? Lets not forget his ANTI-AMERICAN speaches...

#317 - I believed in this unknown senator at the start of his campaign, but the more speeches he gave, the less I believed in him. And then wham! the truth emerged and we can be thankful to Foxnews for bringing us to our senses before losing our our great country to the evil forces that prevail in our sometimes sick society! I say sick because of the folks still standing by him regardless of the dangers he poses to our freedoms. I still feel he has ties to the evil muslim world.

Oh my! Obama was not the eloquent, articulate speaker while making excuses for himself recently; he stuttered, he spluttered, he hummed and hah'd! Thank you Greta, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and anyone else involved; you are doing an outstanding job!

#304 Mike -- Obama did throw his Grandmother under the bus. That was the disgusting part. No grandmother deserves that. My feelings for Obama have nothing to do with the color of his skin but the fact that he stood by and said NOTHING while someone else was promoting hatred between blacks and whites.

Mike, just for the record, don't insult me and the rest of us by saying "its because he's black". Please oh Please don't. I'm tired of typing those same words over and over and over.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#304 - Mike - Dear Mike - It is you who are in the 50's and might I say back 150 years. Please, come into this century. Busses are now "driven" by black people! There is afirmative action which gives them more often times than the white man who is sometimes better qualified. Obama is black, was ahead in the polls, and was halted dead in his tracks by attending and adoring and looking up to a racist pig! Sorry, got a little caried away there. Actually that pretty much sums up Mr. Wright. An educated "pig" but none the less a "pig". When Obama so disrespectfully disrespected his Grandmother he called her another "typical white person". Come on now Mike. You just have to see the writing on the wall here. Why would this man denounce the loving woman who helped raise him when what she said was to him, PRIVATELY, speaking Grandmother to Grandson. How appalling that he would, to protect himself, THROW HER UNDER A BUS! He would do that to his beloved Grandmother. What he did to her alone, makes me quite ill. Some of us here are trying to show you another perspective. Of course you may be pulling our legs just a mite?!!!

  • Lisa In Michigan - 16 years ago

#304 - Mike Obama denounced Wright's words because he had no choice. He still keeps stating he won't disown Wright, his church by the way the new pastor seems to be in awe of Rev Wright. So what exactly did Obama denounce?????????? Obama should just Denounce He Candidacy in the Presidential Race!!!!

  • Debbie Melin - 16 years ago

Obama coming from black dad and a white mom symbolizes the love we whites should have for the blacks. Obama himself cannot heal racial wounds without us supporting him. Obama did denounce his Pastor comment, do u exoect him to throw him under the bus? Obama did denounce his grandmom's comments about blacks, do u expect him to throw her under the bus? If he does, he is someone who is not strong enough for his judgement and he will be viewed as someone who is ungreatful. we all have friends who are very racial, do we abandon them? I'm afriad Kiss, you are leading us to America of 1950's. Please use your judgement. I beleive you are intelligent.

  • Lisa in Michigan - 16 years ago

Obama is not capable of healing the racial wounds that divide America. He told lie upon lie when called upon his relationship w/Rev Wright. He sat there for 20 years along w/his unproud of America wife and let their two children listen to that crap the Rev was spewing. Obama has not earned the right to be President of our wonderful nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way priests that molest kids are prosecuted.

  • Debbie Melin - 16 years ago

    MIKE #292,
I WOULD NEVER QUOTE SUCH A FOUL MAN. AMERICA SHOULD NOT BE DAMMED BY GOD FOR ANY REASON. I DID LISTEN AND MY EARS DO NOT DECEIVE ME LIKE YOURS DO. IF YOU FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT HIS WORDS, WHY DON'T YOU AND THOSE WHO DEFEND HIS WORDS LEAVE OUR AMERICA. WRIGHT IS INCLUDING ALL OF AMERICA IN HIS HATE SPEECHES. I THINK YOU ARE UNDER SOME KIND OF DELUSION. I, AS A PROUD AMERICAN, DO NOT WANT TO BE DAMMED FOR THE ACTIONS OF A MINUTE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE. THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#296 - Mike - if you found out the particular Priest at your Church was molesting children would you leave? I would. Would I think ALL Priests did that type of think? NO. Teaching 1 sermon with hate is 1 too many. When I attend Church it invigorates me, makes me feel closer to God, teaches me right from wrong. I can tell you this with my hand on a Bible, if one time, my Pastor said even 1 sentance like Wright's I would have walked out DURING the service. I feel badly that you feel this is somehow appropriate in the house of the Lord or would somehow condone this type of behavior for even 1 minute. I pray the Lord speaks to your heart, not so much about Obama and Wright, but about his word and his love for you and what he wants "from you".

  • Lisa in Michigan - 16 years ago

#207 - Lew Roberts: You are truly a wonderful man who speaks with great intellect and from the heart. May God bless you and your family.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

Mike: It will never ever be a perfect world. We have worse to worry about. Osama and his bunch of dandy's are using woman and children strapped with bombs to kill us. THey hate us in the name of their so called god. They would and will do whatever it takes to destroy us and the country. I know of no one Mike who goes through life without suffering. You can not rate ones suffering as worse than anothers. No one gets through life without pain and agony. I just get weary of going over and over things that no longer exist when the threats to our country are far worse. Vote for Obama but start building your bomb shelter.

  • Mike - 16 years ago

#291. I'm a catholic. do u think i accept all what the priest says? do u think i am resposible for priest molesting kids? of course NO. Do u think Wright preaches God damn America and hateful Sermons everyday? if yes, where are the tapes ? meanwhile, have u listen to any full sermon of Wright? Cutting someone sermon bit by bit is useless. That is wright's view it does not in anyway represent our President to be, in person of BARACK OBAMA who will use his divided race to heal Americans racial wounds.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#292 Mike - Using the Lords name in vain - thats also a sin - based on the Bible I know.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#289 Mike - If you keep drilling into those childrens heads "hate" how will things ever change. You speak of love - well, my advice is to teach ones children that. That what happened in the past IS IN the past and that we should get along and accept each other on their integrity not the color of their skin. We whites risk skin cancer, only to have that same beautiful brown skin as some African Americans. We are all the same inside, except if our hearts are black with hate, anger and you owe me!

  • Lisa in Michigan - 16 years ago

#289 - Mike Dwelling on the past is why racial hatred continues. Time to move on those situations no longer exist. People are teaching the black kids hatred, that is why they are involved in serious crimes as adults. Lack of education and role models are the main reason. If the African Americans do not move on how will any of these issue's ever end???????????????????????

  • Mike - 16 years ago

#287. we all get discrimated everyday, but how do we healed those racial gaps? if you go to church that should be your judgement. Meanwhile, you will need to listen to full preaching in order to arrive at more concrete and concise decision. God Bless America as we love eachother and treat eachother as one. God damn America if we treat people unequally.lol Thats what Wright said, are u offended? think smart Debbie, i know you are intelligent.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#289 Mike - Your living in another time and age. That is no longer going on. How can anything heal when one lives in the past. I had been so hurt as a child and if I lived continually back there I could not live here in the present. If you keep pulling that scab off nothing will ever heal. Of course there are some that want to live back there. They love to hate, to pity themselves, to find any excuse there is or to blame anyone they can think of for their own failings. We are responsible each, for ourselves. Its part of growing up and if you don't or won't take responsibility one is living as a child and certainly not a grown up.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#285 Mike - Truthfully I would not vote for any man or woman who believed in the teachings of Wright. I feel truly sorry for you if you feel that you would. I am so fearful of people such as yourself - I know you have a right to your opinion, but fear you will find out too late the consequences of that ignorance. Maybe Debbie #287 will get through to you as to what we are trying to say. I just get disgusted with you and others detracting from the real issues here and making this about "color".

  • Mike - 16 years ago

we need racial healing because even those black kids unborn, by the time they grew up and understand that blacks were not allowed to sit on the same sits in a bus with whites, were not allowed to use the same toilet, where not allowed in the downtown area. This will always renew that racial wounds. I am a white man, i am speaking from the heart. we need to love one another so that those racial wounds would not be renewed.

  • Lisa in Michigan - 16 years ago

#284 - Mike please tell me why you support a man that damn's America. If you believe that to be just like the Rev White why do you reside hear in America??????? There a other places you can reside with Rev White, and the whole Trinity Congregation. And in your new place of residence can spew all the racist hatred you can think of. You maybe sick of the criticism, but we are sick of racial haters like Wright and possibly yourself, spreading hate, anger and racial tensions.

  • Debbie Melin - 16 years ago

    #274-MIKE,

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES WHERE SOMETHING HAPPENS AT MY JOB IN DEALING WITH YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN ADULTS WHERE THE RACE ISSUE IS BROUGHT UP. THE YOUNG GENERATION IS LEARNING TO USE THE RACE CARD WHEN SOMETHING IS NOT GOING THEIR WAY. WHERE ARE THEY LEARNING THIS? PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT RAP MUSIC. GIVE ME A BREAK! MAYBE WE SHOULD LOOK IN THE CHURCHES. I WOULD LIKE TO WALK IN A BLACK CHURCH CLOSE TO MY HOME TO LISTEN TO WHAT IS BEING SAID THERE. I HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST SEVERAL TIMES BY AFRICAN AMERICANS. MY SISTER-IN-LAW'S AFRICAN AMERICAN HUSBAND DAMAGED THEIR DAUGHTER BY THROWING HER AGAINST THE WALL. SHE IS PERMANENTLY BRAIN DAMAGED. MY VIEWS ARE NOT BASED ON SKIN COLOR. I LOOK AT THE PERSON. ONE OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG ADULTS AT MY JOB CONFIDED IN ME THE OTHER DAY CONCERNING THE FACT THAT HIS DAD TOOK HIS MONEY TO BUY DRUGS. MY HEART WAS BREAKING FOR HIM. I DO NOT SEE COLOR. TRUE AMERICANS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE BECAUSE WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE A PERSON WHO CLAIMS A RACIST AS HIS MENTOR. MENTOR DEFINED:a wise and trusted counselor or teacher. DO YOU GET WHAT I AM SAYING?

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#282 Mike - Not accountable Mike, but would you attend a Parish where that filth was been spewed? I really bet, as a Christian, that you wouldn't. What frustrates me so much is the few that believe this is color issue. The only time color came up was when I (we) heard Wrights sermon. Let me tell you Mike, I couldn't believe the hate towards the white race. I was appalled and angry but also sad. I believe in Christs teachings which tend to lead me away from Clinton and Obama. They do not follow Biblical teachings. Has nothing to do with color and on these sights its not been brought up. Mike, your an intelligent man, stop and search your heart; do you really believe a person would attend a church or any organization that said these horrific things over and over and KEEP attending if they didn't believe in them. I'm 60 Mike and please trust me, it wouldn't happen. You or I would walk out and never return. You know why, because its not how we feel and and its not what we want our country to be thought of. Hateful and divided. Mike, I and my husband supported Alan Keyes, who is black. If you know the man he is nothing like Obama OR Wright. What I don't understand with people such as yourself and a few others is why so few supported Keyes. What a man he is Mike. Honorable, brilliant, BUT NOT a racist hate mongor. Obama is the most liberal Senator and thats what people want; to get as far from Christianity as they can get. Well they have it with Mr. Obama. Let Alan Keyes run again, AND AGAIN we will support him!

  • Mike - 16 years ago

#283. Do u think anybody that sat on the pews of Rev. Wright church is not qualified to be President of America or is not a true Patriot of America? Use your Judgement.

  • Mike - 16 years ago

Its sick we are out here criticising Wright, when he is getting more and more popular and recognised by great thinkers for his ability to speak his mind which is the foundation of America. there was a big crowd at Florida where he was supposed to be a guest Speaker. Blacks and whites turned out to listen to him, but he decided to boycott because he is sick of the media who always ill inform the people.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#279 - Mike - Yes, their full of hatred because some are being taught to hate and that somehow someone owes them. If you think the vile words of hate WRight spews out is bridging the gap of racial divide, my gosh Mike. I just can't believe YOU'D believe that. No one I know of every had a slave (now my white grandmother had to scrub floors for the business people on here street to feed her children), hung a black man or women, etc. Bill Cosby has the right idea. Quit blaming others for your problems. Stay in School. I didn't go to any fancy school, but I learned my abc's. Quit having a bunch of kids in and out of wedlock. The problem today is so many take no responsibility for their actions. Its always someone elses fault and you know what Mike, with that attitude, they'll always be the victim from PLAYING the victim. A majority of white Americans had no special priviledges. Our Great Grandparents and Grand Parents of many different nationalities came here broke, broke as dirt! They never asked for anything BUT they worked hard. My white husband grew up in a 2 room house. Poor as dirt. Outdoor toilet. Walk miles to school. An orange for a Christmas Present. Does he complain? Whoa is me. Someone owes me because we were dirt poor and didn't have anything, MATERIAL? NO. He thought he was lucky. He loved his parents and siblings and they loved each other. When you keep playing the whoa is me sob story you'll get no where. Let me say I certainly know some white people who do the same thing. I could name one in my own family. Gets real tiresome after a while.

  • Mike - 16 years ago

#273. Kiss. I am white man, i read my bible with full understanding and comparism with todays life.We don't treat Blacks equally like a fellow whites.
Most Presidents, Senators and myself are Catholics. We have never been held accountable for what our Rev. Father says. You can see this is real Politics tactics to kick this blackman out of the race because they know it will make us whites more racial hateful of Obama and besides we whites have highest number of votes. For two weeks now the media are still playing 30 secs video clips of Wright criticizing America. this is sick.
#278.Cap- I listen to CNN, FOX and MSNBC, ABC and also read Yahoo news everyday. Fox is really Bias for all ramification.

    DEAR KISS-JUST THINK | Mar 27, 02:03,

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENT. I TOTALLY AGREE. I AM QUOTING WHAT I HEARD MONTEL WILLIAMS SAY AND WILL NEVER FORGET. "SPEAK WITHOUT OFFENDING". I THINK WRIGHT HAS OFFENDED MANY AND DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE ENOUGH TO APOLOGIZE. HIS WORDS ARE FULL OF HATE, WHETHER FOR FIVE SECONDS OR FOR FIVE MINUTES. LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS AND HOPEFULLY WRIGHT'S WILL SINK THE OBAMA SHIP IF WE NOT LET THIS GO AWAY. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

  • Mike - 16 years ago

#274. I wonder when last did you have racial debate with the opposite race without seeing the bitterness. Well we need the racial wounds by showing love to one another.

  • cap - 16 years ago

#276 Mike - I know the truth hurts sometimes Mike, but if you want to hide from it, in the end you'll only succeed in hurting yourself. Do you know why the ratings on CNN and MSNBC are so low? People are tired of the liberal media. We care about truth, our Country, and making the right decisions. Fox isn't perfect, but its the best thats out there, unless you want to be dissalusioned into a state of "tiptoe throught the tulips and all is sweet and wonderful". Thats Obama singing his pretty words.

  • KISS - JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#273 Mike - Did you ever hear of the division of Church and State? Again a non Church attendee. Ok, here it is, a Preacher, Reverand, Minister, Priest IS NOT to discuss issues of government in order to keeps its tax exempt status.
Another thing, IF YOU KNEW YOUR BIBLE I'D NOT HAVE TO EXPLAIN, is that Jesus did not preach racial hatred, did not believe that killing of the unborn was ok (Rev. Wright feels that a woman has a right to "choose"-sorry, just not a "GOD" thing), stated man will not lie with man nor woman with woman, as Rev Wright thinks its ok. There is more, but might I sugges you pickup a BIble and start to read. If you did you would understand the truth, but without knowledge of Jesus Teachings, you'll just not get it. Sad MIke, because your missing out on so very much. Might I add Mike that slavery no longer exists, in fact this country has more rights for Black Americans in some ways than it does for WHites. We no longer hang people. Wright keeps the sore festering and will keep our country divided. You may wish to read 207. Very wise man there!

  • Mike - 16 years ago

Please listen to the whole sermon of Pastor Wright in order to Judge if he was wrong or right. By the way, FoxTV is one sided always against Obama. If need a good news that is balance listen CNN or MSNBC. It's really sick that Sean Hannity is showing his worst on Public TV, one can always see the bitterness of Sean Hannity.

  • KISS-JUST THINK - 16 years ago

#271 Sheila Dear, this isn't about voting in a priest or a reverand. Its about a man, Mr. Obama, that is running for the highest office in the land, who attends a black church that condones hatred. If you attended Church you would understand how most of us feel. AGAIN, we attend CHurch because we follow or believe in the teachings of that particular Church. Speaking of Priest's that have molested children is not what this is about. If we were discussing various religions you'd be on topic. The Parishioners Who Attend A Particular Church EMULATE the preachings of its preacher or minister or spiritual advisor or mentor. Whew! This is so simple and some of you are way off in la la land and not getting the issue here. If you can't see the writing on the wall your either to young or have dug your head in the preverbial sand pit. Best of Everyting My Dear~

It is shame that most of you in this chat room are one sided. To arrive a definate conclusion, you will need to listen to both sides. Pastor Wright is a very intelligent speaker, he said "God damn america" for treating his citizen inhuman. God damn America for killin innocent citizens in Iraq. If a Pastor does not criticise the government i wonder who else will do that. In South Africa, Bishop Desmond Tutu criticized apartheid which was injustice to the blacks, during that time, he was locked up by the Goverment and criticise by media, today we all know he was telling the truth. In the Bible, Paul formerly known as Saul before his baptism was criticised by turning in to christianity and for speaking against the Government, today he is the foundation of New testament. In the Old testimond, Prophet Jeremiah was known for criticising his people and calling them names like Prostitutes. Any Pastor represents God, you don't expect Pastor Wright to keep quiet after seeing all these going on. Besides he has serve this country deligently in the Military for several years. Please use your Judgement. Do you agree on 100 percent on what your Pastor says? How many catholics have abandoned Catholic Church with all these Priest Molestations and Law Suits? Personally,I'm a Catholic, I will remain a Catholic until i die. Whatever, the priest says does not in any way represent my views or what i do. So please Use your judgement.

whatever the reasons why rev. wright cancelled his trip to florida and texas, is to avoid being question or his controversial ugly sermons in the pulpits w/ or w/o obama's attendance, we will not find out fr obama how many times he heard or witnessed wright ugly rantings against america and americans racist remarks and about 9/11, aids, drugs and maybe more if u will get all his transcripts or videos to investigate, coz obama spoke at the rally again today that the media only took 30 sec of wright sermons , on this obama is still trying to defend wright's ugly remarks, and look what he remarked at geraldine ferraro's speech- obama right away responded to ferraro's racist remarks as racist. he was fast in criticising ferraro and as hillary's supporter, and now obama had delivered how many speeches of explanation about rev. wright and still u dont get the real truth, so he failed in explanation. good u have hillary guest tonight and i've waited for this moment, happy to see hillary and i voted n cauced for her in houston texas, so is my 19 yr old son, my sis, my neighbors for hillary. and obama and his camps n supporters one is george soros heard he rejected the re-votes for florida and michigan coz hillary might win, so last week they said no more re-votes, unless the delegates is split 50/50 as mentioned by chris dodd n obama's supporters. thats not fair, coz floridians voted by the million for hillary and got more than 100,000 votes more that obama and why they will divide evenly??? and in michigan, even obama removed his name in the ballot, he endorsed to his supported to vote against hillary and instead vote "uncommitted" so hillary will lose in michigan. now, coz hillary won the bigger democratic leaning states n big red states like texas n big swing states that deserve the supports of more superdelegates to her side, its not bec. obama won the small red states that dont mean a thing, the reason hillary's delegates is less coz all the states n districts she've won was penalized to a lesser delegates like here in texas, the hispanics districts got only 3 delegates and black districs got 8 delegates and the same w/ nevada and calif etc coz the dnc rules they will penalized districts that didnt exercise the right to vote last 2000 and 2004 and that affected the hispanic districts coz they didnt vote only this yr 2008, but the black populated districts coz dnc claimed that they voted those yrs so they were not penalized, and i think that ruling sucks. if not these rulings hillary shld have more delegates.

Reverend Wright has enough courage and the right to speak his mind; he is in the sanctuary of HIS church. It is his right of freedom of speech to preach a sermon to his congregation on any subject. Not every member of his church will agree with his beliefs, but why is it so hard to believe that members of the church can still respect the Reverend. Catholic priests have for years and continue to molest and rape children, and the Pope and the church have paid money and looked the other way. Catholics remain true to their spiritual leaders, and continue to attend mass and service. I haven’t heard Fox asking why Catholics still support the church and continue allowing their children to attend mass and services, when there is a serious chance they could become a victim of molestation. Not very many of these priests have been tried and convicted I might add--due to the Pope and officials of the church cover-ups and millions of dollars paid out to the victims. Why are Catholic candidates not held accountable for the serious and real crimes of the Catholic Church? There are a lot of Catholics in the Senate, and past presidents who are also of the Catholic faith. Get real people, Obama has nothing to do with his spiritual advisors beliefs. Reverends, pastors, priests and the Pope are all human beings, they make mistakes and they say things which are no politically correct. Obama, nor any other candidate running for public office should be held accountable for a pastor, reverend or priests sermon, thoughts or beliefs.

By the way, why is Fox not reporting McCain's affiliation with the questionable preachers he has requested support from? You have also not mentioned that the former President Clinton asked Reverend Wright to come to the White House with other clergy after he asked for forgiveness in his transgression of adultery, and surrounded himself with spiritual advisors, including Reverend Wright. Hillary Clinton was also present—standing by her cheating husband. Why was Reverend Wright asked to attend a White House event? I’m sure the character and ethics of a visitor to the White House is scrutinized, right?

In closing, it is my opinion that Reverend Wright is cancelling all of his public appearances for none of the reasons listed by Fox; he's cancelling because he is not a politician, he is a preacher and he does not have to publically explain his religion or his sermons, outside the walls of his church to anyone other than his congregation. Apparently, Reverend Wright is a man of great restraint and will not play into the hand of the media. God bless him!

    The meaning of Obama

O is for outrage people now feel
B is for bad judgement you have shown
A is for Allegience to the flag which you do not show
M is for misleading people to the obvious lies you have told
A is for admiring Rev Wright as your true spritual adviser whom is nothing more than a racial divider and hater among many races.

Wake up, people can stop this man. Remember if Obama takes the White House so does Rev Wright!!!! This is not the kind of change we need, and Obama will not bring any type of Unity to any race but the one he admits to being.

I can tell you this I am a conservative but if I weren't and had to vote for either Hillary or Obama you can bet I would vote for Hillary b/c at least I know who she is, she might be a crook and lier but at least she is not evil and Obama scares me wouldn't surprise me if he would give our country away...first nationalize health care, nationalize currency, nationalize religion, ....I don't know but sounds like the Anti Christ to me...everyone better be very careful before voting for Obama...he does have roots in the East and you better be wary.

    Greta,

Thanks for your interview with Hilary. You should ask CNN why are they so hard on Hilary and take up for Obama. Is it because they are afraid of Roland Martin, a CNN contributor. Obama has lied about being a professor, so why are they on Hilary. They only project lies about the polls. Obama said today in a speech that he never heard Wright's comments, he said Tuesday that he did hear some controversial comments from Wright. Why don't you guys broadcast this. I am an African American woman and I would not sit under a Pastor like that. Why don't you ask Roland Martin why is he telling the blacks to vote for McCain if Hilary is the nominee in November. That's not right, Roland is just as racist to me. They just want Wright to keep quiet because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. They are afraid Wright will say something damaging and lying about security issues. Keep speaking the truth about Obama, we don't know anything about him. CNN should be criticized for sugar coating Obama. I use to watch CNN and now they don't report facts, they only show favoritism and this is why fox is the #1 news network because you guys speak facts. I am voting for Hilary because I think she can turn the country around. Race doesn't matter to me, and I am a Christian and the church I attend has NEVER preached racisim, we preach Jesus Christian. I am a black woman who love everyone regardless of race. Obama should quit the race because I know there is more that will come out about him. Every actor has to lay his part down sometimes. I love your show Greta. Obama is a liar also, and why are the Obama supporters so full of hate and anger.

    GREAT JOB, GRETA,
We simply cannot believe people want to put this guy in the White House. He is a liar, racist, definitely has ties with, the "rev", rezco, farrakhan, the "new black
muslims", nation of islam,etc.,etc. If he didn't, he wouldn't beat around the bush. He continues to attack Hillary, Bill (he isn't even a candidate),Chelsea, mccain and others...Why? Because he's trying very hard to get the real questions directed at him put aside. He's a PHONY, from the word,GO !!!
Today, some commentators on FOX said they doubted if the people who claim they're going to vote for mccain in NOVEMBER, if obama gets the nomination.
GUESS WHAT ? I want to bet any of them paycheck for paycheck I'll vote for mccain, if obama gets it and....I'll want their checks.
If AMERICANS think there is hatred & racism now, wait till obama, wright and farrakhan get the WHITE HOUSE...!!! ALL HELL IS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE...!

Is it worth the chance ???

#255 Karl - Now Hillary is certainly no saint. This is also not the 1st time she has lied.
I might ask a personal question of you Karl. Are you a Christian? Do you attend Church? I'm not stating this in a cruel way, but your comments tend to make me think not. When we go to Church Karl, we go to hear the teachings of Jesus Christ. I never hear in my Church hate of any group or color of people, G.. Damn American, that the Government infected blacks with aids, that the KKK leads up to the whitehouse, and so on and so on. Most of us here would state with absolute certainty that they would leave any Church OR organization that preaches - teaches that type of racial hate. Your right, we either believe Obama or we don't, but to actually believe he didn't know about these rantings of WRight and the association with Fericon, The Black Panthers, etc. are rather like hiding ones head in the sand because the facts and truth really really hurt. I miss Church on occasion but can tell you the mission of our Church. Whom we look up to and love is often whom we emulate. These behaviors will be brought into our WHite House. I Love My Country and don't want to see this hate brought into the most powerful position in this Country. IT WILL become highly racially divided and lead to more hate and division than you can imagine. You state that Rev. Wrights and Obamas following are "minor". That statement literally scares me that you as a votor would put such a low regard on something so important. You have the right as an American to vote for whomever you choose, but you may change your mind when a racist becomes President and you helped put him there. Than it will be 4 years of that "hate" and "division". God Bless You and help you make the correct decision, one that builds our Country up and does not bring it down.

  • Kristina - 16 years ago

I am ashamed of Obama for having a 'family friend' who is so open about his racism. I was even more upset and disappointed when I read that Obama was so vocal about Imus' comment last year about a Woman's Basketball team; yet he has remained silent for the past year about his pastor's comments; I beleive that he has only spoken up against Wright because of his status in the current Presidential Campaign. I would be very disappointment with Democratics who vote for Obama after this issue. I am not a racist, and I thought that our country was so much further than this Pastor's comments, on several occasions. Going as far to say that the US deserved the 9/11 attacks. I would not have wished those attacks on any nation; it is an act of violence that no person shall ever have to endure. I have family that live in Illinois who share the same views that I have, and are appauled that these comments were made. I definitely do not want a President or Leader at any level who can 'overlook' or have selective hearing when racial or unethical comments on one or multiple occasions. I do not believe that Obama has never heard Wright make any of these comments; especially after Obama states Wright is like an uncle to him. To me, that means these two have spent a great deal of time together, most likely outside of the church when they both would be more relaxed and comfortable and able to speak their minds freely. I will now be voting for Clinton; but if she is not the Democratic Nominee, then I will be voting for McCain. I am proud to say that I have never voted for Bush, and I will be more than happy to say that I have never, nor will ever vote for Obama. Before the Wright issue, I was not 100 percent committed to one nominee and was still reading up on both candidates; after this, I am now 100 percent sure that I want Clinton.

I believe Obama was not honest in his remarks regarding his pastor. He stated the minister was retiring he failed to mention he was continuing on as associate pastor, after stating his minister was retiring he reinterated he was not leaving his church.
This comment tells me he is not willing to disassociate himself with his minister. If he were my pastor I would be physically ill hearing the statements he made in his sermons. Obama said the media was putting 30 years of sermons in 30 seconds. I believe we would be apalled if we were to hear all of his sermons. I believe Obama was in attendance when some of these statements were made. This man is not onlyhis pastor but also his friend, I am certain he was aware of his feelings during the past 20 years.

I hardly think he is being pressured by Obama. We have already seen which side of the fence Obama comes down on. He clearly refuses to take a stand against this racist person who claims to be some kind of preacher. You are known by the company you keep. It is clear to me that the "Reverend" (and I use that term very loosely) Wright's primary goal is to get Obama elected to the White House so that he will have someone on the inside and as the leader of our country who can further propagate his hate filled message. Do not be deceived Obama and the "Reverend" Wright clearly have an agenda along with all of those far left leaning liberals who want to see this country turned into a socialist nation and communist agenda. They are fools and foolishness has a price...are we willing to let this rhetoric espoused by Obama and "Reverend" Wright mislead you. We as a nation are in the fight of our life and we need to take our country back and return it to those who have our best interest at heart. I say if you don't like this country and all of the good and freedom that our country represents, then don't let the door hit you in the back where the good Lord split you on your way out.....GET OUT!!!! we want those in leadership in our country who are for americans not for the hidden agendas leading us down the path of socialism and communism.

Rev Wright: NO WONDER MICHELLE OBAMA FEELS GOOD TO BE AN AMERICAN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE!!! THIS MAN IS THE WORST RACIST I'VE EVER EVEN IMAGINED...
REV WRIGHT HAS BEEN THE BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND FOR SO LONG HE FEELS LIKE BILL CLINTON IN THE WHITE HOUSE... (BEYOND QUESTION)
OBAMA'S FOLLOWERS KEEP SAYING YOU CAN'T CHOOSE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS... BUT YOU CAN CHOOSE TO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH THEM. I AGREE WITH THE ALL OF THE ABOVE STATEMENTS.

I'm tired of these dumb polls that you have Greta. Please stop and just discuss the issues objectively. Did you notice that your opinions are always so 'carefully' woven into your questions? Why don't you just tell everyone whom they're to vote for and end this poor excuse of fair and balanced journalism. Don't tell me...you voted Bush TWICE!!! Right? BTW..where's Bill O'Reilley. I have some words for him also.

  • Reggie - 16 years ago

I think Wright cancelled his apperances for security reasons and probaly pressure from Obama campaign group. I also don't think Obama should be judged by those comments even though very few of them were untrue if any. Are you going to ban every black kid in that church the past five years from having a chance to be president 40 years from now. You have to be black to understand what black americans go through. Wright quoted somethings an ambassador said and voiced his opinion on what he thought Bush and his group should be waging war on and they were all good wars to support. He is intitled to his own opinon. I know some blacks don't try but niether does some whites. Obama still has my vote and I'm sure thousands of other blacks will still vote for him. I can promise you my family will vote for him.

Who cares what Rev. Wrights reasons are? He's not running for president and I'm really tired of the media trying to keep it alive for ratings purposes. The constant statements about should Obama have left his church are spurious. Obama has said that he was never present for any of these statements. End of story! Either you believe him or you don't. Dodging Rev. Wrights racial and government slurs are minor when put against Clinton's outright LIE about avoiding sniper fire in Bosnia. Come on folks, this is approaching ridiculous. Words do mean something! The words of each individual candidate. Not there pastors, husbands or political advisors. None of whom, by-the-way, will be answering the phone for either candidate at 3 a.m.

what galls me is if oboma is President Mr Wright will have free access to the white house and all of the whites that he hates will be paying for him to live it up and laugh at how stupid the people were for puting oboma in the white house. When you go to a church it is because you belive in what that church teaches, other wise why would you go there,he new and I belive he belived in him,or he would have never stayed and listen to all the hate.

I and my husband had supported Alan Keyes for President but unfortunately that brilliant man got no where. Probably too conservate and too Christian. I'll never be able to figure out why the Black community didn't stand up for him more. He would have been an awesome leader. NOW HE would have united not divided. Lew, you understand this isn't about color of skin, as so many keep deflecting the real issues back to. We all must unite as our children and grandchilden stand to suffer much from who is running this great country. I have never been to a Black Church, or should I say ALL Black Church. I watch In Touch Ministries and his congregation is very mixed and he speaks from the "BIBLE" as it should be. The head of about 107 Baptist Churches in our state is a Black Man and he just came to our CHurch and preached and visited recently and the man had such a moving sermon. He preached Bible teachings, told a story about his battle with cancer and his faith, and brought tears to many eyes. Its not color really of our skin, its following the BIBLE teachings of Christ not the version that is man's version and rewritten by MAN to the hate and non-teachings of Christ. God BLess You Lew and God BLess America.

NO one has called Obama on his not hearing the comments Rev Wright said. No one has called Obama on plagerizing "words don't matter" Obama's speech on race took us back pre 60's when he has promised to take us into the future. What future? One that splits America? I'm a black professional with two sons, a Harvad graduate and a Stanford graduate. I can tell you this would not have been possible if it weren't for the gains we made since the 60'S. I'm proud of our country dispite our flaws. Race isn't the issue and we need to stop trying to have a dialogue on it but focus on helping America recover from this upside down economy. Solve our problems not create a non issue. Lastly someone needs to investigate what is being said in the black churches....it is scary if they are replicating the junk Rev Wright is preaching. Please don't nominate a candidate who has shown such poor judgement.

Did any of you notice when he was speaking to a group of people about the Wright scandal how he was tripping over his words and stuttering. My mother use to tell me "you will always remember a truth but forget a lie". His smooth image is changing now that he isn't the hero he was trying to proclaim. He is no here, just a man who for 20 years has been seated in a racially divided Church and adoring a man who is a racist. Its sad for him and his family, but we all suffer the actions of our decisions. He's 20 years too late explaining.

I feel pity for you and others who are not accepting of all truth whether good or bad. Thats what we must have to vote. ALL facts. You have been paying too much attention to Boracks "tiptoe through the tulips and lets get along" retoric. He isn't what he stated all along. Its just totally frustrating to me as a voter to hear people in the "me me me" mode. This concerns our country, its honor, its integrity, its very being. You won't have to worry about the economy, your job or health care if we do as Obama wants and pull out of Iraq. The bad guys will be here; well they already are, but it will get worse. If we're dead, won't really matter if we can get free physical exams. And the way he feels about white Americans, Italians and the like the divide in this country will be greater than we've ever seen it. The divide is here now AND getting worse. THe news Lorrie just states the truth; if you choose to put your head in the sand I truly feel sorry for you.

She is as much a liar as he is a racist. So I will be voting for John McCain in November.

  • JJ - 16 years ago

I think he's under pressure and does not want to be questioned by the media--h has much to hide beyond the words he has spoken. In regards to Obama, he's this man is his spiritual leader, mentor and guidance since he was around 22 years old. Only God know how Obama at an early age has been influenced. He cannot distance himself from this man because although he objects to the extreme statements this man has made, Obama feels the same way but in a more civilized manner now at age 42 and running for President. Furthermore, Obmama would probably like to be in the position to make some of the changes this man thinks should be made in regards to the "white government" etc. and if President, I don't dought that he will make this attempt and furthermore I can tell that this man did this on a regular basis by the congregations reaction. People don't act that way when a preacher says something extreme, they usually have that look of shock--like, Did he really just say and do that? on their faces. It was evident by the reaction that this has been going on for awhile. I believe that Obama, his pastor and his congregation have every right to believe what they want however, when your message is judgement and change well, in the light of what we saw and heard regarding not only the words of his pastor, all commentators (in support of Obama and his pastor and saying that this is common in all black churches) that have spoken in the media and Obama's continual support and flat out telling the Country that they need to get over it because he will continue in the philosophy of the church, it concludes to me clearly what change Obama wants for this Country and also reveals Obama's judgement (clouded since age 22). Greta, your interview of Hillary was impressive. You were respectful and yet to the point. You didn't come across as bias in anyway whatsoever--I respect you for this--seems clearly that there is no hidden agenda. Hillary might have mis-spoken, but so has Obama and others but it doesn't come close to the associations that Obama keeps.

  • Corrine - 16 years ago

#12 Marilyn - The only people Wright likes are Black Americans. I fear that the fact Obama emulates, looks up to and loves Wright is the possibility he may be a closet racist with a hidden agenda for becoming President and running the most powerful country in the World. Obama has a right to attend any Church he wants but doesn't have the right to attend AND be my President. He does keep the lie going by still stating he never has heard these comments, but anyone above the age of reason, 5 years old, certainly will not believe him.

#8 Justice - My Dear Justice - how can those words be taken out of context? I fear your hiding your head in the sand.
Remember, the people we are friends with, look up to, love, admire, attend Church with a rather racist pastor for "20" years, see as a mentor ARE the people we tend to emulate. You have not been deceived or lied to by Fox News, only the so called Rev. Wright and Mr. Obama.

Why should we care what Obama's preacher said. Obama didn't say it and really its not that big of a deal people are just making something out of nothing trying to make him look bad but he is still okay in my book. Obama this Obama that Obama MAN get over it FOX noone cares you guys are such instigator. but can't look at yourself!! In the bible it says "judge not, ye be not judged. for with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again."1387pg Matthew 7:12
message to OBAMA your doing great don't let noone put you down. Fox is just hating but me, my family, and friends got faith in you!

    Greta
I am a Democrat and am appauled at the judgement of Barack Hussein Obama, he will never get my vote. I think if a lot of the voters in the past primaries had knowledge of what we have learned in the past two weeks he would in no way be leading in delegates or the popular vote.
Why don't you take a poll of the people that have already voted & see if they would have changed their vote with this new discovery.

I'm still waiting for the Rev Wright to apologize to every GOD fearing American. remember the Imas thing and what the rest had to do,before Rev Sharpton came down our streets with his bus full of protesters...He"ll never apologize! What makes him so Amighty,? YOU know who the racist is...Its ones like him that stir up the blacks just to keep them down.Personally I and alot of others think he has very close ties to the Muslims (oops,am I allowed to say this,or will I be accusd of racism?) and ,why isn't Mr Obama coming forth and answering the questions about the slum lord he worked for and kept the Black people living in ghettoes while he collected BIG BUCKS..Where was his pity for the black community then?
