Please choose a foundation after asking for their OVERHEAD APPROPRIATION PERCENTAGE. The lower the % the more of your funds goes to the CAUSE than the overhead of its management. And there is no such thing as 100% appropriation to the cause. There is cost in everything, even donations of things and time.
I read UNICEF's appropriation is 80+% while World Vision global is 50% and its local offices just 30%. And Red Cross collects worldwide intelligence up for its highest bidder - not for conspiracies or espionage, but for straight up research.
Your best bet is to go local, a community organization will take the least amount of your funds to its overhead. And it proximity will allow you to see the activities being done with your donations.
This is not a popularity vote, and your fund shouldn't go to its great brand and marketing campaigns. Choose well.

This is great. For me, it was a tie between St. Jude's and WWF. However, in the end I chose the latter since I never heard of St. Jude's until now.
I really hope wildlife fund can win, but there's a really small chance of it winning.

St Judes is a wonderful organization. Helps children with cancer and everything is free for the children and the parents. Had a friend with a little girl that had a brain tumor, without St Judes she probably would not have received such good treatment. The family never could have afforded the expense of the best doctors without them. She is now living a happy life.
Would be nice to see children come out ahead of wildlife. Although I do love the little animals. :-)

WWF sued the wrestling corporation of the same name a while back, making them switch to WWE...ever since then, whether or not it was because I grew out of it or not, the WWE has turned into absolute crap...
The World Wildlife Fund went years and years co-existing with the World Wrestling Federation...and I think even though this is petty, suing them over naming rights is beyond ridiculous, especially for a alleged non profit organization..

Vote for the WWF. We raped the land and the animals who inhabit it for far too long. So many animals species could die out because of us! A whole SPECIES, not just a few children. Yes, it's true, the children in the poor countries suffer, but I think that the animals suffer much, much more.
WWF! Help the animals, we are the ones hurting them. The least we can do is try to fix our damage.
All the chariity groups have really helped in reaching out to millions of people(children) in time past across d globe.The only tin i tink they all need is proper use of funds donated.

I personnally voted for unicef. I do like the other chairtys though,but i was more intrigued with unifecs tap water project where you can supple a child in africa 40 L or supply 40 children with 1 litre of clean water with just one dollar. If unicef had won, we would have been able to supply 1200 children with water that can last them for a month or supply 48000 children with one litre of water. The other chairtys are great, i just think this one is most effective because we can help so much children with just a dollar. But anyways im glad kevin was able to do this anyways.
