Is it ok to run next door to borrow a cup a sugar without bringing your 9-year old along?
Is it ok to go out into the back yard to rake the leaves leaving your 9-year old in the house alone?
Is it ok to fetch something out of your car without taking your 9-year old with you? If you don't the 9-year old has been left in the house alone right?
I find it very hard to believe that a 9-year old has never spent a few minutes in their homes alone at one time or another. How is that possible? If you walk outside to the mailbox and don't bring the 9-year old with you, then you left him/her in the home alone.
I think everyone has a different idea on what this question actually means.
