This is definitely not the taxpayers burden. The landlords need to be held accountable. For the laws broken and emergency housing. This is a problem that the city has looked at with a blind eye until there was a tragedy

You the tenent are responsible. You knew the apartment was illegal. You took it for CHEAP RENT. The landlords probably told you not to say anything. Live on the streets, you deserve it.
