I think it would be a shame if GM had no 3d - It allows people who are allready advanced in 2d to start a new chalange and create exeptional games. I actualy don't know any game development system that allows such advanced games in 3d - For egsample: 3D game maker (not game maker- another programme) is so overly restricted! Game maker in 3d is the perfect balance betweene C++ coding 3d and a user freindly IDE + 3d functions.
I would like if mark would find out how to allow surfaces in 3d:
as then people could add things like reflections,
specular light reflections,
gloss maps,
bullet holes,
3d destructibal terrains,
the list goes on...
Anyway - I voted Yes.

If it wasn't for the 3D aspect, I wouldn't have even bothered with Game Maker. I think that for the simplicity of the program, 3D is an amazing addition, and I only hope that Mark eventually decides to further its purpose by adding new functions and such, or to at least optimize the speed of it.

making 3d games in game maker is hard. but it's very rewarding. i can make a 3d game using a program that wasn't intended for it. other people give up on gm, but i become a better programmer because i have to create my own 3d collisions, movement, etc. that's why it's worth it.
